Mr. Junaid Nawaz

Muhammad Junaid Nawaz joined the University of Georgia as a graduate student in 2022 and is currently doing his Ph.D. in Animal Science, with a major in meat science and technology. Junaid was born and raised in Pakistan and has a family history of farming. He graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pakistan (UVAS). Junaid received his M.Phil in meat science and technology from the same University in 2018 with a focus on shelf-life during prolonged storage of meat. During his MPhil. Junaid worked as a quality control manager at Kold Kraft Tongda (a meat processing and export company) in Pakistan for one year. Junaid also served as a field veterinarian in the government sector for two years before accepting the position as a Lecturer at Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bahawalpur, Pakistan in 2018. Junaid’s major areas of interest are post-slaughter processing and packaging technologies to improve meat safety and quality and value addition of red meat and poultry using further processing.
